The Council of Europe, as part of a joint project with the European Union, organized a significant training session for media professionals and journalism students in Chișinău, Moldova. The event, which took place from July 23 to July 24, 2025, was focused on promoting ethical and inclusive reporting standards within the country's media landscape. The training aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to cover sensitive topics related to vulnerable groups without resorting to stereotypes, prejudice, or discriminatory language. Twenty-four individuals, including journalists, editors, and students, attended the workshop, which was led by an international media expert.

The curriculum of the training program covered several critical areas, such as the importance of using inclusive and non-stigmatizing language, methods for combating hate speech, and the principles of ethical journalism as outlined by the Council of Europe. Participants engaged in practical exercises and discussions designed to enhance their ability to produce content that is respectful of human rights and diversity. The initiative is part of the broader project "Promoting equality and combating discrimination in the Republic of Moldova," reflecting a sustained effort to strengthen democratic principles and media freedom in the country by fostering a more responsible and inclusive press.
