Chiang Mai University reports on a workshop titled "AI and Law," a collaborative event organized by its Faculty of Law and College of Arts, Media and Technology. The workshop, held on August 28, 2025, at the university's law faculty, brought together academics, legal practitioners, and technology experts to discuss the multifaceted impact of artificial intelligence on the legal profession and the justice system in Thailand. The event was inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, who emphasized the importance of preparing the next generation of lawyers for a future where technology will play an increasingly central role.

The sessions covered a range of topics, including the application of AI in legal research and case management, the ethical challenges posed by algorithmic decision-making, and the need for a legal framework in Thailand to govern the development and use of AI technologies. A key objective of the workshop was to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration to ensure that legal education and practice in Thailand can effectively adapt to the rapid advancements in AI. The event underscores a growing awareness within the Thai academic and legal communities of the need to proactively engage with the opportunities and challenges of legal technology to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of justice.
