Press Information Bureau, Government of India reports on the launch of SUVAS 2.0, an AI-powered translation tool unveiled by the Chief Justice of India at the Supreme Court on July 25 2025. SUVAS—Supreme Court Vidhik Anuvaad Software—translates judgments from English into multiple Indian languages. The upgraded version incorporates improved machine‑learning capabilities to enhance translation accuracy, speed and efficiency, marking an important step toward using technology to broaden access to justice.

The initiative aims to break longstanding language barriers that have limited access to Supreme Court decisions. By making judgments available in Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati and other regional languages, the court ensures that litigants, lawyers and the public can understand the reasoning and outcomes of cases in their own tongue. The release of SUVAS 2.0 reflects a wider digital transformation in India’s judiciary, promoting transparency, inclusion and access for all citizens regardless of linguistic background.
