Labs of Latvia – The Latvian government has announced the creation of a National Artificial Intelligence Centre, tasked with overseeing AI development, ethical use, and regulatory compliance across the country. This body will coordinate policy, facilitate research partnerships, and ensure that AI innovation aligns with EU and national values.

The Centre will act as a hub for guidance and monitoring, particularly for AI solutions used in public administration and digital infrastructure. It will also provide technical expertise to ensure AI systems comply with data protection, transparency, and accountability standards.
