The study explores the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease while addressing the ethical and legal concerns associated with AI-driven healthcare solutions. AI is being integrated into Alzheimer’s research to improve early detection, track disease progression, and personalize treatment plans.

One of the key applications of AI in Alzheimer’s management is early diagnosis. Machine learning models can analyze medical imaging, genetic markers, and patient behavior to detect early signs of cognitive decline long before traditional diagnostic methods can. These AI tools could significantly enhance patient outcomes by enabling earlier interventions.

The study also highlights the use of AI-powered chatbots and assistive robots to support Alzheimer’s patients in daily activities. These technologies can provide cognitive exercises, reminders for medication, and even companionship, reducing caregiver burden.

However, the paper raises concerns about the ethical implications of AI in dementia care. Issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and patient autonomy remain critical. Since Alzheimer’s patients may not be able to provide informed consent, there is a debate about how AI systems should be regulated to protect vulnerable individuals.

Another legal challenge is the liability of AI-driven diagnoses. If an AI system misdiagnoses or fails to detect Alzheimer’s in a patient, determining responsibility—whether it falls on the healthcare provider, AI developer, or data source—becomes legally complex.

The study concludes that while AI has immense potential in Alzheimer’s treatment and management, strict regulations and ethical frameworks are needed to ensure its responsible and effective use. The future of AI in healthcare depends on balancing technological innovation with patient rights and safety.
